Komala Bhavan

Komala Bhavan

Older calicutans would know this place. You might not have seen it because its on the first floor of a building near VNM, which all of you have seen when going to palayam from Calicut railway station. As any other hotel in calicut, the food is good. There is certain specialties. its not so famous as the hotels such as Topform or Paraqon which are near to it. but, you can go there when other places are packed fully with hungry calicut omnivores and the Q beats that of BevCo. Because of its stealth location, the place gets even close to being packed only on holiday eves and special occasions. so, getting seats and food for a family of 5 wont be a fuzz anytime.

What to eat...!!

Always a dilemma when in calicut. Komala bhavan offers pretty much every food item you can get in calicut. But, when you are there, try the Onion chicken.

its awesome. its spicy, hot and desi. Which simply means tasty^3. You can also get Chinese items, a verity of biriyanis and other items that are in every menu of calicut kitchens.

Next time you are in town and trying to kill some time waiting for a friend, train or just bored... try taking a walk, see the sights in our sweet streets. and when you are all hungry from the walk, just walk in the door of komala bhavan and order the dish. Order anything. Calicut wont let you down :-)

I'M BACK with RAHMATH HOTEL

Most of u might not know this hotel. this is not situated at a tourist spot or at the side of a national highway. OK.. OK... I'll cut to the chase... this is THE RAHMATH HOTEL. situated near the Mathrubhumi press and central market. describing in a sentence, you can get the best beef biriyani of all of Malabar, from the Rahmath hotel.

Rahmath hotel have been the part of Calicut city for a glorious 50years. now, in the 51st year of serving the best BB to the hungry calicut dwellers, they reopened today, 12th September 2012 just like me reopening this blog. now, Rahmath hotel has upgraded their 1st floor to A/C. Extended their ground floor by attaching another shop just 2 doors away, making the new found space the family rooms & takeaway section. Actually, i'm dying to get off this seat and go there and eat my favorite biriyani after 2 whole months.

those who have access to the heart of Calicut, i stronly recommend u go there and have a beef biriyani. don't worry guys, who don't eat beef.... there's plenty of other food here that u can try....
